Asked whether the exclusion of those countries [Canada, Russia, Germany, France] from bidding on construction contracts [in Iraq] violates international law, Bush said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about by international law. I better consult my lawyer.”

This morning I spent an hour getting a massage and an hour and fifteen minutes floating in a sensory deprivation tank. This scores highly on the “trying new things” scale.

California – San Francisco
“Not in Our Name Mass Convergence”
Sunday, October 6, 2002, 2PM
Union Square

Many different organizations will be coming from around the greater Bay Area to converge on Union Square to say “Not in Our Name!” to a war without limits. As groups make there way to the convergence from points north, east and south, they will be distributing materials, parading puppets, and flying banners.

KPFA will be broadcasting from the event.

Somehow an item was accidentally sold to me at Long’s. One of those plastic shower cap things. It was only $0.49 so I’m not going to return it. The best thing about it: “Bouffant Size!”

I’m updating this from the Berkeley Public Library. Couldn’t resist. The title of this post is just one I randomly selected from the browser’s “history” that other folks have typed in.

After receiving the letter informing me I owed the Library something along the lines of a gazillion dollars in late fees, I reluctantly brought the book in and asked if we could work something out.

“Don’t worry,” the guy said, “it’s just five bucks.” Cool, I’m not a library criminal anymore.
