I came across the “BARTmobile” today as I was walking past Civic Center. It’s a little bus thing that looks like a BART train with a happy face built in to the front. The driver was very friendly and told me they use it to transport BART employees to events.
My thoughts: 1. Did they realize they drove the BARTmobile to an event two blocks from a BART station? 2. How much money does BART spend on cute little buses that don’t serve regular passengers?
I’m just sayin’.
Don’t get me wrong, the BARTmobile is adorable… sigh.

I feel ya, brotha.
Why doesn’t the city buy some tiny, adorable little buses to service bus lines that only run every 45 minutes or hour, rather than cut the schedule saying they don’t have enough passengers to justify it? I don’t even mind if it doesn’t have an adorable face painted on it.

It looks like a kiddy ride. My seven year old boy would make drive to SF, pay for parking, and pay for a ride, just to ride the cute little bus. I can not show him this photo or he will bug me to do just that the next time we are in the Bay Area.
It looks like one of Thomas the Train’s friends.
