I think the lighting and color is interesting.
Mural art in the Mission District…
I snapped this shot while walking on an informal art tour this afternoon…
I’m moved in to my new place, and have been getting settled for about two weeks. It’s strange to be living alone again. I don’t post much about my relationships here in this public forum, so I’ll just say that I am single again for the first time in a few years.
Here’s the view from my balcony:
San Francisco is such a great place. I feel quite fortunate to be living here.
I snapped this shot when I was out on the rented motorcyle in Hawaii:
The rental place only had Harleys. I’m not really a Harley guy, but it was fun riding around. Maybe if I ever go back I’ll find the other bike rental place and get something a little less… well, Harley-ish.
I really like the way the rust colors came out, with the light sky and dark water above and below, respectively.
I went for a relaxing bike ride around the neighborhood, and snapped a few pics. This one is at the corner of 24th and Dolores:
I was kind of worn out, so I didn’t ride anywhere particularly challenging. Sometimes it just feels good to get outside and see what the neighborhood is up to.
This morning I took the subway in to Manhattan and caught the Staten Island Ferry. It was free, gave me my boat fix, and offered a great view of the city. The sky had cleared up and the sun was out.
I promptly turned around and came back. I found out that the shoes I was wearing have very little traction on snowy streets. So I made my way carefully, walking up Broadway. It was very cold, so I ducked in to a place to grab a bite, then did some “window shopping” at the J&R Electronics store. I got into a discussion with a woman shopping there about the problems with the Bush administration.
Then I walked toward City Hall, turned right, and walked halfway across the Brooklyn Bridge. The sun was reflecting on the water as a DEP boat, several ferries and a couple tugs passed underneath. The air was still cold and crisp, and the view was outstanding. I had made my way many miles by train, boat and foot.
